Google Search Engine Optimization
The focal point of any online marketing effort has to be Google search engine optimization. The reason for this
is simple. Google has the traffic.
Google SEO
Google has become such a massive force in the search engine wars that it is often referred to as the Big G. It
may sound like a gangster rapper name, and it should because Google can kill the prospects of a business with the
simple adjustment to its ranking algorithm. Let’s look at one example of how that happened in the not to distant
past despite the best Google search engine optimization efforts of one site.
Ezinearticles.com
Ezinearticles.com had a good thing going and a tremendous business model. It built a platform where sites could
submit articles for publishing. Other sites could then post those articles to their own sites so long as the
provided a link back to the site of the author. Ezinearticles then sold advertising and posted Adsense ads on the
site.
Think about this business model for a moment. Ezinearticles.com essentially built a platform that they didn’t
have to build content for. Other sites provided the content for free and the site just grew and grew. Don’t get me
wrong. There was a lot involved in keeping the site going, but it was a good position to be in. The site eventually
became one of the most visited on the web in the world.
Then Google tweaked its algorithm.
The update occurred in the first quarter of 2011 and was known as the Panda/Farmer update. The change was
designed to specifically eliminate the articles sites because much of the site had become spammy and of low
quality. Over night, ezinearticles.com lost something like 70 percent of its traffic. The site survives to this
day, but the revenues must have just been crushed. One has to feel bad for Chris Knight, the owner.
Your Site
So, what does this mean for your site? The answer is simple. It means that you need to be well rounded when
pursuing rankings. Google search engine optimization is all about building links naturally, at a regular pace
and from a variety of sources. On top of this, you need exclusive, quality content on the site and really have to
focus on getting people to stay on the site for as long as possible. Put another way, you need to offer them
something of quality which is really what you should be doing anyway.
What role does Google search engine optimization play in the services we provide? It is front and center. Google
controls more than 70 percent of all the search traffic on the web. This means that you have to focus nearly all
your efforts to getting ranked on it because a top 10 ranking on Google simply blows away anything you would see
from a similar ranking on Yahoo or Bing. Contact us today to find out how we can make top 10 rankings happen
for you with our Google search engine optimization packages.
